What we do
We are a registered German association and the partner organisation of KitzīnīKatz Fuerteventura, an association under Canary Law.
The main part of our work is to support our partner organisation in Fuerteventura which is taking care of the many unwanted cats on the island and provides a safe shelter for them. The cats are cared for in the cat refuge Hobbiton
Especially tortured and abused animals such as these poor little kittens who were tossed out of a driving car (we reported in June 2008) are provided with medical help and care. Unfortunately, two died on the spot and another two passed away due to their severe injuries.
But these 6 survived
Also, all the other cats can cure their injuries and illnesses in the Hobbiton. They are also fed and are saved from hunger and harm. By collecting
donations and selling goods at the flea market, we try to raise funds for our work in Fuerteventura.
We are also re-homing cats to Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Moreover, we organise flight sponsors, co-ordinate foster homes and co-operate with Twinkle Trust Animal Aid.
We support the neutering campaigns by
TTAA Great Britain (Twinkle Trust Animal Aid) and try to improve the living conditions for the cats on Fuerteventura.
If you are interested in the work of Twinkle Trust Animal Aid and want to read about the necessity of neutering campaigns, please visit the web site www.twinkletrust.org
Some of our members also spend a part of their holiday at the Hobbiton on Fuerteventura.
